Designing and Delivering Online Classes for Student Engagement and Learning

With the number of UT System students taking at least one online course during their degree journey—or completing their entire degree online—online education deserves the same attention as face-to-face learning opportunities. This interactive session will feature strategies for developing and delivering successful online courses with emphasis on active learning, collaboration, instructor presence, and the incorporation of soft skills.

Discussion Questions posed by the presentation team:

1.How do you engage students in an online course?

2.How do students communicate with you and one another in an online class?

3.How do you create student and instructor presence in an online class?

4.How do students demonstrate that they have learned in an online course?
